i think it’s a little unfair to compare spite and justice’s ability to act normal against each other, or to act like spite just being a misbehaving cat diminishes how hard it was for anders justice to cope with possession. spirits in the material world get upset when they can’t fulfil the pure ideal they seek. spite is a creature of spite and gets to kill people trying to hurt it basically all the time. justice is a creature of justice and was living in fucking kirkwall

if you don’t get hung up on the spirit vs demon thing, the lucanis-spite situation is really a lot closer to the wynne-faith situation, where because keeping faith in the HOF or the circle is something wynne can earnestly believe in and act on every day and see that have measurable effects on her world, we have almost no problems. lucanis-spite isn’t anywhere near as easy as that—wynne-faith is basically seamless and wasn’t forced on either party—but you see what i’m saying. if a spirit is in a situation where it can just do and achieve the thing it’s trying to embody it’s not going to have a breakdown

You ever miss a day of your antidepressant and suddenly become aware that the heavy fog is just always there waiting in the wings

Sometimes it’s deeply inconvenient that my internal clock is set for me to be a night watch. Like, I’m tired all day and then my parents go to bed and turn of most of the lights in the house and I’m suddenly possessed of the need to patrol the house. Make sure everyone is safely tucked in and the doors are locked. Maybe do some dishes.

No, brain! We have work in the morning because the work schedule is set by diurnal people! Tomorrow will be better if we can just Go To Bed.
